What is MessageMirror?

MessageMirror is a simple email archiving solution for storing, retrieving and searching all emails sent and received through your AZ Biz Online hosted Exchange service.  The service creates a copy of every email, and stores it in a central MessageMirror mailbox.  The solution is perfect for keeping a backup copy of emails, recovering deleted items, reducing primary mailbox sizes, and conducting cross-mailbox searches.

Who needs MessageMirror?

MessageMirror is ideal for all businesses that want to benefit from having a centralized, automated backup of every email, but do not need a full-blown compliant archiving solution.  Because email is a critical business communications tool and because many users treat email like their “file server,” it is critical for all businesses to be able to search through email to find and/or restore emails and attachments as needed.  MessageMirror also offers excellent protection against employees who leave the business, deleting their entire mailbox and files, and all the important Intellectual property contained within them.

How does MessageMirror work?

MessageMirror uses Microsoft Exchange journaling to create a copy of every inbound and outbound email, internal and external, and store it in the MessageMirror archive.  The MessageMirror archive mailbox can then be searched using Microsoft Outlook to find and/or restore emails.  MessageMirror can be used for some or all of your mailboxes.  Just log into the control panel to activate the service, and select the mailboxes you wish to archive.  Through the control panel you can also manage access permissions to the MessageMirror mailbox, as well as define policies for message retention and deletion.
